PROFILE
Alyssa graduated from the University of Leeds (UK) with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2014 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2016.
Prior to joining the Tembusu Law, Alyssa practised at a leading matrimonial law firm where she was primarily involved in contentious and appellate matrimonial and family justice litigation.
Alyssa specialises in Matrimonial & Family Law and regularly handles Divorce matters involving jurisdictional and cross-border issues, financial matters and child custody disputes.
She regularly acts as lead counsel in contentious disputes involving both local and expatriate clients, and she has successfully argued Family Justice Court appeals in the High Court including a recent decision which helped to clarify the position of the Singapore Courts on the appropriate method of arriving at the value of a Build-To-Order (BTO) flat (UUV v UUU [2020] SGHCF 7).
Alyssa also helps clients negotiate out-of-court settlements and advises on non-contentious Family Law and Estate matters including settlement deeds and postnuptial agreements.
In addition, Alyssa handles general litigation and dispute resolution matters involving contractual disputes, breaches of directors’ duties, Employment Law matters and commercial transactions.
She serves as an Assigned Solicitor for the Legal Aid Bureau (LAB) and a Volunteer Lawyer with Community Legal Clinics organised and administered by the Law Society Pro Bono Services.
